On your engagement day, the groom to be is the most important man at the venue.

Your bride is going to look drop dead gorgeous, so it is your responsibility to match up to the high standards she will be setting. Men can either go the western or Indian route or coordinate their outfit with their future wife.

There are some colours that are simply evergreen and cannot go wrong, however many grooms are much open to experimenting with their engagement outfit colour and thinking out of the box. Here are a few colour choices you can opt for your engagement attire:

Black

Black is classic, black is evergreen, black is safe.  A black suit or bandhgala if you are going the traditional way is the most popular and easy to pull off colour.

It is perfect for an evening engagement. If you are wearing a black suit, team it up with a pale shirt and black.

Navy blue

Timelessly elegant, navy blue is the colour for you if you want a formal, suave look for your big day. Navy blue kurtas look best when teamed with a golden or off-white pyjama and a matching dupatta.

For a western look, try a navy blue suit with tan brogues and a white shirt.

Brown

It is probably the most underestimated and understated colour, but it should definitely be among your top five choices.

Chocolate brown, dark brown or mahogany, all these shades will look dashing on you.

Grey

Grey is a very versatile colour and probably the best option if you are planning to wear a suit to your engagement.

We prefer you choose charcoal grey over lighter shades of grey for a more formal gathering like an engagement party or wedding reception.

White

Apart from the fear of getting stains on your outfit, nothing should deter you from trying the classic white. Be it a sherwani or a tuxedo, white never disappoints and will surely set you apart from the rest.

You can always wear a red safa (in case of sherwani)pocket square (for tuxedo) to add that zing of colour.

Colour coordinating with your bride is sure to make you both look adorable and a match made in heaven.
